Key Features
Measurement Principle:
OLPAS Ultrasound backscattering ("accoustic backscattering) in the 3-8 Mhz range (*)
(*) The proprietary OLPAS measurement technology covers a wide range of particle sizes (nanometer - millimeter) for concentratoin measurements. The Accoustic Backscattering properties of the Olpas-sensors can not be compared to traditional sensors.
Independence/insensitive:
No impact of changes in optical parameters
No impact of changes of fluid colour and fluid velocity
No impact from solids form and structure
Superior resistance to
fouling & struvite precipitation
changes in optical parameters (e.g. changing colour, particle size or particle shape)
Easy mounting due to the compact sensor.
Standard maintenance interval longer compared to optical sensors
Factory calibrated
Advantages
The ultrasound OLPAS Technology provides a robust measurement that is not prone to changing water colour or other optical changes that are not relevant for the actual SSC (Suspended Sediment Concentration)
A very wide range of particle sizes is measured; even particle sizes in the nm to μm-range.
Olpas sensors measure through fouling, requiring much less maintenance
and no need for automated mechanical cleaning (no wipers, no pressured air)
Longer maintenance window, resulting in a lower OPEX and an economical measurement
